Holiday musing: fixing stuff on prod

I love Val.town for building little experiments and getting them hosted quicky. The fact that you can instantly have a URL to run code is incredible.I use townie (their agent - https://townie.val.run) a lot to knock out ideas quickly. Give it a prompt and some $ and you have an app on that url in mi...

The Memex is solved.

I went down a rabbit hole researching the origins of hypertext and one of the articles I liked the most was "The Memex Revisited"  - https://worrydream.com/refs/Bush_1967_-_Memex_Revisited.pdf - it describes today from the late 60's. It describes deep research, LLM memory, personalisat...

A rare sight

We went to the Pablo Picasso museum in Málaga. It was rather spectacular, they also didn't force a use-once app down your throat and instead had a good, high-quality we experience. Best of all, I saw a lot of people using it.

Townie

I think Townie is super interesting. On a user level, I really like that I could build this blog with it, and it just worked... It seems like a pretty complex set up, but looking at the source code it's been really interesting to see the agent, the tools and the tool loop in action and how the s...

Building software, not writing code

I really liked this podcast on the Pragmatic Engineer with Gergely Orosz and Steve Yeggie, specifically the point about not writing code but building software. My work has changed significantly over the last couple of months. LLMs have enabled me to bring projects that I've always wanted into ex...

All these new web browsers.

It's awesome to see the continued innovation around Web Browsers. To me it just reinforces the opportunity that the web can give everyone. It would be nice to see all these well-capitalized companies that ship AI browsers support the common infrastructure of browser development more and if not t...

What is this even?

I wrote in Whither CMS? that I think with the introduction of LLMs that I think that traditional CMSs (e.g, the WordPress' of the world) have the potential to be massively distributed. This site is my test to show that I think the world is changing. Yes, the world of content might change with mo...
